Description

The clock is ticking to get new English, math, and ESL curricula in place for the AB 705 implementation deadlines!

By Fall 2019, virtually all community college students will have a right to enroll in transfer-level English and math, and colleges will need to replace traditional remedial prerequisites with concurrent support at the transfer-level. By Fall 2020, colleges will need to ensure that placement policies and curricula give credit ESL students the best chance of completing transfer-level English within three years.

This event will help colleges develop new concurrent support for transfer-level English and math, along with accelerated and integrated ESL sequences. In math, there will be a second day of activity focused on developing concurrent support for Business and STEM math pathways. Participants will learn about successful models from across California and receive nuts and bolts implementation guidance.

The event is intended for faculty, administrators, counselors, and staff who did not attend a 2018 CAP summer institute (June 15-17 at Skyline College, July 7-9 in Riverside, August 22-23 in the Central Valley).
